Diabetes awareness to improve diabetes management and well-being
14 November is World Diabetes Day
Today, November 14th, marks World Diabetes Day, and the entire month of November is dedicated to diabetes awareness. These are crucial times to emphasize the impact of diabetes and the importance of early detection and management. At Aidian, we are committed to enhancing diabetes management through our point-of-care testing (POCT) solutions.
The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) highlights better diabetes life with this years' World Diabetes Day theme "Diabetes and well-being". Point-of-care HbA1c testing has shown to improve diabetes management, patient’s commitment to treatment and patient satisfaction. These are leading to improved glycaemic control and reduced risk of harmful and expensive comorbidities.1-3
Worldwide, 537 million adults were affected by diabetes in 2021. This number is expected to rise to 783 million by 2045.4 This increase can lead to higher rates of diabetes-related complications, greater strain on healthcare systems, and substantial economic burdens due to increased healthcare costs and loss of productivity.
